The Hundred is a brand new cricket tournament set to debut in the summer of 2020. It will feature eight men’s and women’s teams, representing some of the biggest cities in England and Wales. The aim of this tournament is to make cricket more accessible and appeal to a wider audience by introducing new rules and shorter match formats.
The eight teams participating in The Hundred are Birmingham Phoenix, London Spirit, Manchester Originals, Northern Superchargers, Oval Invincibles, Southern Brave, Trent Rockets, and Welsh Fire. Each team will consist of 15 players, with a maximum of three overseas players. The teams will be coached by some of the biggest names in cricket, including Andrew McDonald, Shane Warne, Darren Lehmann, and Simon Katich.
The Hundred will also feature a mix of international stars and up-and-coming players, providing a platform for the next generation of cricket stars to shine on a global stage.
